When attaching electric fence insulators to the posts or rails of a vinyl fence it is important to use stainless steel screws to prevent rust from staining or streaking the vinyl.

PVC or vinyl that is not UV protected will yellow, become brittle and fracture easily with little impact.

When screwing insulators to vinyl take care not to tighten the screw to the point of stripping out the whole in the vinyl or fracturing the insulator. If the whole is stripped add a drop of PVC cement and re-insert the screw.
