SePRO Sonar RTU (Ready-To-Use) is a highly effective, systemic aquatic herbicide formulated specifically for do-it-yourself pond owners to control tough, invasive aquatic weeds.
Powered by the active ingredient fluridone (3.79%), it eliminates problem plants like duckweed, hydrilla, coontail, watermilfoil, and water lilies entirely down to their roots. Because it is a ready-to-use liquid, it requires no mixing, no specialized spraying gear, and no boat; you simply pour it directly into the water from the shoreline. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
    🌿 Key Features & Benefits
      • Systemic Action: The formula is absorbed through plant leaves, shoots, and roots. It stops the formation of carotene, destroying the plant’s ability to photosynthesize. [1, 2, 3, 4]
      • Safe for Recreational Water: There are completely no restrictions for swimming, fishing, boating, or livestock and pet water consumption immediately after application. [1, 2]
      • No Sudden Oxygen Depletion: Unlike fast-acting contact chemicals that cause rapid weed decay and dangerous drops in dissolved oxygen (which kills fish), Sonar RTU works slowly over several weeks to safely protect your fish. [1, 2, 3, 4]
      • Long-Lasting: A properly managed treatment program provides complete, season-long control for a year or longer. [1, 2]

    📋 Application Instructions & Split-Dose Schedule
Sonar RTU relies on a mandatory 45-day water contact time to kill weeds permanently. It is strictly designed for whole-pond treatments in bodies of water with little to no outflow so the chemical doesn’t dilute. [1, 2, 3]
For optimal results, applications should be initialized early in the season (February through the end of June) when weeds first begin to grow. Rather than applying the chemical all at once, you must follow a standard 3-step split application schedule to keep herbicide levels consistent: [1, 2, 3]
      1. Day 1 (Initial Application): Shake the bottle well. Pour half (50%) of your total calculated dosage directly into open water from a few spots along the shoreline.
      2. Day 21: Return to the pond and pour one-quarter (25%) of the total required dosage into the water.
      3. Day 42: Apply the remaining one-quarter (25%) of the dosage. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Note: For a standard 1/8-acre pond with a 4-foot average depth, the complete program requires one quart total (16 oz on Day 1, 8 oz on Day 21, and 8 oz on Day 42). [1, 2]
    ⏳ What to Expect
      • 3 to 6 Weeks: Target weeds will begin to lose their green color, turn white, or wilt as chlorophyll breaks down under sunlight.
      • 30 to 90 Days: Complete management and death of the target weed species is achieved. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

    ⚠️ Critical Use Restrictions
      • Irrigation Hold: Do NOT use water treated with Sonar RTU to irrigate established turf, crops, or ornamental plants for 30 days following your final application. Wait 60 days before irrigating seedling grasses or new plantings. [1]
      • Seasonal Limit: Do not exceed a total of 3 quarts of Sonar RTU per acre-foot of water within a single growing season. [1]
      • Local Regulations: Due to varying state environmental policies, online retailers cannot ship this product to several states, including CA, CT, ME, NY, NJ, OR, and WA without local permits or licenses. [1, 2]
